Entre Hermanos is seeking a self-directed Development Manager to join our dedicated team who strive to bring social justice and equity to the Latino LGBTQ community. The Development Manager works in partnership with fellow staff and board members to formulate and implement a dynamic fundraising and communications plan that supports our programs and services. About Entre Hermanos       

Entre Hermanos was formed in 1991 by a group of Latino Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning individuals in response to the HIV crisis, and the lack of healthcare and social support needs within the Latino LGBTQ community. Today, Entre Hermanos is a bilingual leader in HIV prevention including testing, community education and PrEP navigation, healthcare and social support for people living with HIV, advocacy for access to programs and services, voting rights and inclusion in the U.S. census, and legal assistance for LGBTQ Latinos seeking asylum in the U.S. due to violence and repression in their home country. Scope of Work

The Development Manager plans, leads, and administers all aspects of Entre Hermanos’ strategic fund development plan. They are responsible for guiding and collaborating with fundraising efforts. The scope of fundraising includes individual donor development and stewardship, corporate and foundation giving, and event planning and execution. 

Donor and Volunteer Relations (50%) 

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Fundraising Committee to develop a comprehensive Fund Development Plan, including setting annual and long-range goals for fundraising, and performance evaluation vis-à-vis the plan
  • Engage and train Entre Hermanos’ Board of Directors to support individual fund development and related activities 
  • Collaborate with and support the Fundraising Committee 
  • Maintain donor and foundation prospecting and cultivation processes 
  • Coordinate cultivation of existing donors through targeted outreach, communications, and event strategies 
  • Identify and coordinate cultivation of new donors and foundation prospects while seeking input from staff, past and current Board members, existing donors, colleagues, and other sources
  • Develop and coordinate direct mail and direct ask solicitations

Events (30%) 

  • Full responsibility to organize and lead two annual fundraising events, the Cinco de Mayo Spring Brunch, and the Dia de Los Muertos Fall Gala; this includes securing venues and catering, working with Board and staff to identify and secure event sponsorships, secure auction items, create event programs, and managing guest registration with outstanding customer service
  • Responsible for coordinating Pride Month events including Pride Parade
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of other donor stewardship events 
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain composure in high stress/pressure situations are essential

Administration and Communications (20%) 

  • Execute day-to-day administrative fundraising tasks to maintain top performance
  • Prepare fundraising communications including emails to Board and committee members, meeting minutes, draft solicitation letters, regular donor updates, and acknowledgment letters 
  • Create reports from the CRM database to assist and inform fundraising efforts 
  • Create timely gift receipt and gratitude letters to donors 
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks that have competing deadlines
  • Other duties as needed 
  • Coordinate with grant writer to submit proposals in a timely manner

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • 3 – 5 years demonstrated nonprofit fundraising experience
  • A passion for serving the Latino LGBTQ community and a commitment to Entre Hermanos’ mission, vision, and values 
  • Articulate on sexual orientation and gender identity rights, as well as social justice and equity
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive donor communications
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; excellent oral communication and ability to participate in public speaking events in addition to board and team members, and key stakeholders
  • Spanish fluency a plus
  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to develop project work plans, handle multiple concurrent assignments, and meet competing deadlines 
  • Strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency with MS Word and Excel, database management (Little Green Light a plus), document design, navigating the web, and electronic marketing systems 
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule (some evening meetings required, and very occasionally, weekend days)
  • Enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire for professional growth in the fund development arena 

Bilingual Spanish-English fluency a plus.

Salary up to $60,000/year DOE. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, company-sponsored retirement plan, generous PTO, monthly gas card.

Terms of Employment

Washington State is an “at-will” state. This means that employers have the right to terminate an employee without notice, warnings, or reasons. It also means that the employee has the right to leave their job without giving warning, notice, or reasons.

All new Entre Hermanos employees are subject to a six-month probationary period. This period is used to determine if the employee demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the tasks required of the position. At the close of the probationary period, the new employee will receive a performance evaluation. If performance is determined to be satisfactory, the employee’s status will change from probationary to permanent. Probation does not alter or supersede the “at-will” conditions of the previous paragraph.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Privacy Policy In the course of employment with Entre Hermanos, employees will encounter confidential and proprietary information about Entre Hermanos, including information about its clients, donors, volunteers, service providers, Board members, services, plans, finances, and sources of funding. This information is proprietary to Entre Hermanos and its confidentiality must be upheld by all employees. Such non-public information belongs solely to Entre Hermanos and not to the employee or any other entity. By law, a duty is imposed on employees to maintain the confidentiality of this information, and to use it only for Entre Hermanos purposes. This obligation is maintained during employment and continues after separating employment with Entre Hermanos. 

Employees may not copy, distribute, or use written or electronic materials owned by Entre Hermanos. Furthermore, materials prepared in connection with employment by Entre Hermanos, unless authorized by the Executive Director for the benefit of the organization. When an employee leaves employment with Entre Hermanos, all copies of Entre Hermanos’ documents must immediately be returned as well as electronically recorded organization information and other tangible things belonging to Entre Hermanos.
