Entre Hermanos’ Immigration Department aims to achieve the rights of immigrants through direct legal services. Without appropriate legal assistance, members of the LGBTQ Latino community find it difficult to obtain legal immigration status. Our Immigration Department will also engage in advocacy and immigration policy reform through collaboration with other nonprofits, community-based organizations, government agencies, and Latin American consulates.

For more information, or to arrange an appointment for a phone consultation, please contact our immigration attorneys:  206-532-0266 or schedule on-line

LGBTQ Asylum: Entre Hermanos attorneys are actively taking cases for both detained and non-detained LGBTQ+ members of the Latino/a/e/x community to apply for asylum and other forms of immigration relief. We prioritize cases for those people who are vulnerable and detained, and those who are already in immigration proceedings. We also offer consultations to Latino LGBTQ folks with their other immigration needs, such as family petitions, adjustments of status, U-Visas and VAWA petitions.  We are able to accept cases for these services depending on our capacity.  Do you want to have an immigration consultation with one of our attorneys?

Entre Hermanos offers free immigration clinics to our  LGBTQ community.  Immigration consultations are conducted on Tuesdays from 10:00am to 1:00 pm, and on Thursdays, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Make your online appointment for immigration related issues here:

  1. Schedule an intake appointment by calling 206-532-0266 or scheduling on-line
  2. Be prepared to leave a message including your name and phone number.
  3. Make sure you come to your appointment on time.
  4. During this time of COVID-19, we have suspended in person appointments, and use a distance model, usually by telephone.  We can also arrange for consultations via computer with applications such as Skype or zoom.
  5. Please bring all paperwork you think might be related to your case.  This could include passports, birth certificates, other identification documents, court documents or appointments, immigration documents, documents related to prior immigration cases, records of any arrests or criminal convictions, even if from your past.
  6. During your consultation, we will help you clarify issues, and search for a path to resolve your case.
  7. Your case may require further research, and we will not always be able to give you immediate answers.  If we cannot reach a conclusion because we don’t have enough information, we will tell you that.
  8. Many immigration cases do not have legal solutions, due to the difficult and unjust laws in this country.  If we do not see a positive outcome for your case, we will tell you truthfully, “We don’t think you have a case.”  Please understand that we desire for all members of our community to achieve status, but sometimes this isn’t possible.  Even if your case does not have a legal solution, we extend our solidarity and welcome to you and invite you to participate in our community programs, health programs, and other events.
  9. After your intake interview, we will review your case and decide whether we can assist you or not.  We consider factors such as whether a case can win, whether a case fits in our calendar, our available resources, and your needs and expectations.  If we are unable to take your case, we will tell you clearly that we will not be able to do your case.
  10. You should also do your own review, and decide if our organization is the right fit for you and your case.
